Around April of 2026, screen recordings of one of the "Save Big" commercials were uploaded to social media, with claims that one could see bugs crawling on a steak that was shown on screen. The posts circulated across various social media platforms and was reported on by the International Business Times.

Several commentators on social media have since noticed that other commercials in the campaign have the same "bug" appearance on them. Viewed from a high quality copy of the commercials, as opposed to a grainy screen recording, the "bugs" in question appear to be peppercorn or other related product. The peppercorn appears in the same position in other commercials featuring other products, indicating that they are likely from a template from which items being advertised are inserted in.
